Life II

Truth Versus Deception

Many ancient and modern voices seek to either deny or redefine truth. Denial, imitation, and substitution are their tactics. These voices seek to lead you away from the truth either directly or by influencing you to accept a redefined imitation or substitution.

The voices themselves vary greatly and span the experience of human history encompassing paganism, false religious systems, a plethoria of cults, occultic doctrines and phenomena, and atheism/reductive materialism.

Christians understand this as an aspect of spiritual warfare. Spiritual warfare is personal warfare and the ability to detect and disregard deception while discerning and applying truth in your life is critical. If you are not a born again follower of Jesus Christ, then you are outside God’s kingdom.

This does not mean God does not love you. It means that you are spiritually dead and quite possibly deceived about it. Despite your best attempts at religion or attempts to find some ultimately meaningful worldview without the God of the Bible, you are eternally lost and in need of salvation.

1. The first thing you must do if you want to be spiritually reborn by God Himself so that you may enter heaven is to acknowledge that you have done things that are wrong, inappropriate, and short of God’s perfect standard.

2. Secondly, you need to believe and accept that God Himself crossed the gap between the human and the divine in the person of Jesus Christ, God’s own son, and that He alone is the instrument of God’s forgiveness to humanity.

3. Thirdly, ask God to forgive your sins and to indwell you with His Holy Spirit. You could pray a prayer just like this:

“God, thank you for sending your son Jesus Christ to pay the price for all my wrong doing. I know that I am not perfect and that to enter eternal life with you, I must be forgiven and spiritually reborn. So I invite you to come into my life and be my God.

4. Afterwards, follow the New Testament instruction of seeking water baptism and a community of authentic Christian believers to fellowship with.
